TCF or TEF Canada: which one should I take?

Both are accepted for Canadian immigration. They differ in format and timing. My free guide compares them in ten minutes, and we confirm your choice in your first session.

What level do I need to join?

Boost suits A2+ to B2 learners. Master is for B1 and up, ideally with an exam date in the next three months.

What time are the sessions?

Live online, 90 minutes. Boost: Saturdays 10:00 Vancouver, 13:00 Toronto, 23:30 India. Master: Saturdays and Sundays 7:00 Vancouver, 10:00 Toronto, 20:30 India.

Can I try something free first?

Yes. I run a free French conversation group, rated 4.9/5. It is not exam preparation: no corrections, no mock tests. If your exam is more than six months away, start there. If you have a date, the coaching is what will move you.

What if I miss a session?

You'll receive the worksheet completed by the group, and you can join the same theme when it comes back.

How do cancellations and refunds work?

Boost month to month: cancel anytime, you keep the month you paid for. The 3-month Boost plan and Master are non-refundable once started. Full details in the terms and conditions.

I focus on the TCF and TEF Canada only. I sat the TCF Canada myself and scored C2 in speaking and writing, so I know exactly what the examiners expect.

Before you book.

TCF or TEF Canada: which one should I take?

Both are accepted for Canadian immigration. The free guide compares them side by side.

What level do I need to join a program?

Boost is for learners from A2+ to B2. Not sure about your level? Email me your exam date and I'll tell you if Boost is right for you.

Is it suitable for complete beginners?

Not yet: both programs start at A2+, because the work is built on the real exam tasks. If you are just starting out, email me and I will tell you how to get to A2+ first.

Will I practise speaking and writing?

Yes, both: they are the active skills, the ones that only improve with regular training.

In every session, you speak. With six learners at most, everyone takes part, every time.

Between sessions, you do homework on the exam tasks. I review your mistakes and send you detailed, personalized feedback by email, so you know exactly what to fix.

Mock tests put you in real exam conditions: writing mock tests train your time management and your focus, and one-to-one speaking mock tests prepare you for the day. Boost: 1 of each a month.

What time are the sessions?

Boost: Saturdays, 10:00 to 11:30 am Vancouver time (1:00 pm Toronto).

Sessions are online, so you do not need to live in Canada to join: everyone is welcome, wherever you are, as long as these times work in your time zone.

What do I need to join?

Sessions take place on Google Meet. Once you have booked, I add you as a guest to the sessions you paid for: the invitations arrive by email and appear in your calendar, with reminders. Easy and convenient.

All you need is a computer or tablet with a camera and a microphone, a stable internet connection and a quiet place.

What if I miss a session?

You receive the worksheet completed by the group.

Can I cancel?

Boost (1 month or 3 months): full refund if you cancel by email at least 7 days before your first session. After that, no refund, but you can move your remaining sessions to a later group within 3 months.

Mock test: you can reschedule up to 24 hours before.

The French Club: cancel anytime by email; the current month is not refunded.

What about the TEF Canada?

The groups currently prepare the TCF Canada, but a TEF Canada group can open in the future.
